The OSCR has completed construction for the replacement of the SR788 crossing near Wellston, OH. The project was funded on a 50/50 basis between ODOT and the OSCR. All track work was performed by OSCR crews and equipment.
The project design called for raising the existing grade at the crossing by 6 inches to improve the highway profile. This necessitated raising, ballasting, and tamping of the rail approaches to the crossing a distance of 500 feet in each direction. The roadway approaches were then milled and paved to fit the new road profile.
ODOT gave OSCR high praise for the quality and timeliness of the project.
