Ohio South Central Railroad to Rehabilitate Jackson Spur

The Ohio Rail Development Commission has approved funding to OSCR to rehabilitate 14.7 miles of track between Hamden, OH through Jackson, OH.

The project cost of $822,038 will be funded by $449,113 from ORDC and $348,800 from OSCR.  An additional $169,025 of inventoried rail and ties will also be incorporated into the project.

The work will be performed by OSCR crew and equipment.  Work will start immediately.

The Jackson Spur supports the General Mills and Bellisio frozen food plants, Aluchem alumina plant, and the Jackson Logistics Center, which combined employ 2,200 people in the area.
