OSCR completes rehabilitation of 9.8 miles of track

The Ohio South Central Railroad has completed upgrading rail track from Hamden to Red Diamond. The $1.2 million project was funded by a combination of an FRA Rail Safety Grant, an Ohio Rail Development Commission grant, and the OSCR. Armond Cassil Railroad Construction was the contractor for the job.

This line segment primarily handles hazardous material for the Austin Powder explosives plant. Work included tie replacement, ballast, tamping, regulating and replacement of 8 crossing surfaces.
