Indiana Eastern Railroad to Welcome Congressman Greg Pence

Cottage Grove, IN.…. On Tuesday, July 30, Indiana Eastern Railroad (IERR) will welcome Congressman Greg Pence to its headquarters in Cottage Grove, Indiana for a tour of the railroad and the services provided.

“We thank Congressman Pence’s service to our industry and his Membership on the House Transportation and Infrastructure’s Railroad Subcommittee” said George Andres, CEO of IERR.  Although Short Line Railroads may be small in size and operate over a relatively short distance, their impact to our communities are great. Short Line Railroads connect local shippers to the larger markets via connections with the Class I providers, such as CSX.

There are over 136,898 freight railroad miles in the United States, of which, 3,786 freight miles are in the State of Indiana.
